All of the tissues of your body will change as the years pass, and your skin is especially vulnerable to the ravages of time. During your youth, your skin is padded by a thick layer of collagen that plumps and smooths your skin.

You lose much of that collagen over time, which leaves your skin to sag and pool into lines, wrinkles, and folds. Gravity also takes a toll, pulling loose skin downward.

Your forehead and brows are one of the places that show age faster than others. As the skin and tissue in this area begin to sag, it can cause your eyes to appear smaller and more closed than they used to. In extreme cases, sagging near your eyes can even partially block your vision.

What happens during a brow lift?

Before moving forward with a brow lift, you’ll have a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Garcia to discuss the procedure and what to expect. If you decide a brow lift is right for you, anesthesia ensures you rest from start to finish. You won’t feel a thing and will awaken to a refined brow and forehead appearance.

Dr. Garcia begins by creating the incision he’ll use to gain access to the underlying tissue. There are several options for how to place the incision, depending on the approach Dr. Garcia feels is best. One option uses a very small incision and an endoscope to perform the alterations using incredibly slim surgical tools.

Another approach uses an incision that begins at your ears and crosses the top of your head at the hairline. Called a bi-coronal incision, this option allows easy access to the tissue in your brow. Dr. Garcia adjusts the skin and muscle to improve your brow contouring before carefully closing the incision. Your incision line is concealed within your hairline, and there are even options for people who have a high forehead when moving the hairline back even a little is not desirable.

How long does it take to see the results of a brow lift?

It takes time for your body to adjust after any plastic surgery procedure, and a brow lift is no exception. Expect some swelling and bruising after your procedure. Prescription medication is provided to control discomfort.
